The International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE 669), IATSE 891 Motion Picture Technicians, and the Directors Guild of Canada BC are pleased to announce Digital Days 2017: The Future Is Now conference and trade show will be taking place March 3-4 at the Anvil Centre, in New Westminster.  Our conference ties in with the end of Creative Industries Week, an initiative of the BC Government and MPPIA (Motion Picture Production Industry Association), and the City of New Westminster’s Innovation Week.

Digital Days offers the BC film industry and aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to come together and explore, learn and network around creative, technical and business issues arising with new digital technologies, and their impact on storytelling.

The Anvil Centre, is a state of the art venue, perfect for the industry to showcase and demo equipment, hardware and software, present engaging speakers, panel discussions and breakout sessions.   This year we have expanded our exhibition to include a virtual reality screening “corner”. Conference attendees will be immersed in this cutting edge medium experiencing innovative story telling through the eyes of the presenting filmmakers.

To kick off Digital Days, we have planned a special community event for the evening of March 3, an open invitation to the community to view a special screening and presentation.

The Saturday conference program is taking shape, with morning and afternoon panels, and the midday booked for breakout sessions, demonstrations and the trade show exhibition. The conference will end with a Keynote followed by a networking reception.
